Rosneft Aero begins refueling in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

The deal is in line with Rosneft’s strategy to expand the network of own fuelling facilities and increase aviation fuel supply to end consumers. As a result of the deal, Rosneft Aero has brought the number of its fuelling facilities to 19. Rosneft’s own refineries in the Far East will allow to fully meet the demand of the facility at Khomutovo airport for high-quality jet fuel.
Sakhalin region is a strategic operating area for Rosneft. The Company is working on several ambitious large-scale projects in its territory contributing significantly to the region’s economic and social development. Air transportation is the main means of communication between Sakhalin Island and Russia’s mainland. The airport handles regular flights from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Moscow, other cities in Russia’s Far East, Japan, and South Korea, which accounts for heavy air traffic and drives jet fuel demand.
Further plans for the fuelling facility at Khomutovo airport include the modernization of production capacity as well as the implementation of industry best practices in fuel quality control and industrial and environmental safety.
